An Interview with Theresa Hope
Theresa Hope - Grandma to hundreds of children
We live in a society where different generations are often separated from each other. Children spend much of their time in schools and after-school programs and playgroups among their peers, adults carry on in their working and social lives with people of similar ages, and the elderly are often marginalized in their own homes or in elder-care facilities. I believe it is a loss when senior members of our population are not integrated into the lives of younger people where they can share their wisdom, experience and patience. This next interview is with 81-year-old, Theresa Hope, and it shows that when a grandmother is added to the mix of a Vermont elementary school everyone benefits. Listen to Theresa explain her work and what it means to her and students and staff at St. Albans City School.
